In 1995, whilst working in a local eatery washing pots, Will (Seamless) heard a magical tape where tunes started but never seemed to finish. After closer inspection he was told that this was mixing and that you used turntables to mix records, and that is exactly what he started to do .....

 

Will's first opportunity came at Club Nato in Leeds for renowned event 'Hard Times', where Will honed his skills playing old school tech house. A variety of styles followed from breaks to techno, even dabbling in psy-trance, drum and bass and others.

 

His distaste for the commercial side of dance music drove Will into the fields with various (often illegal) free party sound systems including early Toil parties which in turn developed into the now famous Beatherder festival. Stints with The Very Tidy Pirates, Herbal Mafia and finally Subconscious solidified his blend of Tech-House, Techno and Minimal into what many regard as a well rounded sound, deep and subtle with melodic and rhythmic intelligence.

 

With releases on UNT, Patent Skillz, Kaleydo Records/Beats, BeGroove Records, BQuiet Recordings, On the Rocks Records, Discotech Records, New Era Recordings, Music Records, Chief Recordings, Morrison Recordings, Exceptional and Composure, Will's productions have made waves across the scene. Not limited to just dance music, he has produced a range of chilled tracks, blending electronic sounds and beats with world music and percussion laden grooves.

 

2011 came and with it Will's radio station Modulate FM - the station was dedicated to 24/7 quality Tech/Breaks/Techno and has showcased some of the biggest names in the business, alongside unknown artists, dedicated to showcase all talented individuals, and give each the opportunity to display the very best of what they could offer. The station ran for five fantastic years but alas time and energy for other projects meant it had run it's course and reluctantly decided he decided to call it a day.

 

So roll forward to 2020 .... Seamless productions are still ongoing for Tech House/Techno edged music, but for more experimental tracks, his Partikl productions are where interesting things are happening! These Productions blend Dubstep, Dancehall and Breaks, with a minimal/industrial Techno sound palette.

 

Having long since shelved spinning vinyl (Self-confessed vinyl junkie for 15 years), his current preferred setup is Traktor with the s8 mk2, where he utilises 4 decks, looping, FX, Stems, Original Material and any other tools that suit the setup to create DJ sets that are not just simply 'other artists records, played nicely in order',  these sets are more intimate, improvised and never the same twice and always, always pushing to get as much out of the source material as possible.

Will's career has seen him alongside the likes of Martin Buttrich, Josh Wink, Gregor Threshor, Dub Pistols, Luke Pompey, Krysko, Paul Daley, and many many more.
